2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series I, II, and III: What are the Differences?

February 3rd, 2023 by

It’s hard to find a more luxurious line from Jeep than their Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer line. What are the differences between the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series I, II, and III? Each series has additional features the previous model does not possess. While the luxury and features scale up, each has something to offer the discerning car buyer.

For each model in the series, their features pose a full suite of electronic and safety features. This includes a Uconnect 5 NAV, integrated Bluetooth voice command, and more. The Wagoneer has a 360 surround-view camera, electronic stability control, and blindspot and rear cross-path detection. This is just a taste of the Wagoneer’s extensive capabilities. Let’s take a deeper look.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series III

Before talking about the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series III, we need to mention in brief the Wagoneer Obsidian.

The Obsidian has a few improvements over the Series II, but fewer than the Series III. This model is a midpoint between the two series. The Obsidian builds off what Series 2 offers with a black onyx grille, roof rack, and badges. It has 22-inch polished aluminum wheels with a black insert. It also has a new Dark Onyx chiseled metal aluminum dash trim. The second-row seats are ventilated, and the McIntosh MX1375 entertainment system has 23 speakers.

For that extra bit of luxury, the Series III builds on the Obsidian even further. The leather-trimmed seats will have premium quilted Palermo leather and massage capabilities. The front console will have a cooler bin to help keep essentials cool for your trips. Not all of these improvements are purely luxury, though. Night vision and pedestrian and animal detection will give you extra safety and security on the road in the dark.

2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series II

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series II has everything the Series I does, with some additional features. The Series II interior features a digital rear-view mirror and premium Palermo leather-trimmed seats with massage functions. The driver’s and front passenger seats also have memory functions on top of massage. It saves your favorite settings within its comprehensive system. One safety feature created for Series II and onward is traffic sign recognition with drowsy driver detection. All of these features are available in the Wagoneer Series II, the Wagoneer Obsidian, and the Wagoneer Series III.

Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series I

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series I is no basic or bare-bones model by any stretch of the imagination. It has many of the features that all subsequent models have, too. This includes an impressive array of safety, technology, convenience, and comfort. The 6.4L V8 engine delivers up to 471 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque.

Speaking of Torque, the Wagoneer has TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission and Quadra-Lift air suspension. It comes standard with a remote start system and keyless enter-n-go entry with a built-in immobilizer.

The Series I has LED 3-optic fog lamps with cornering alongside LED projector headlamps, tail lamps, and daytime running lights. It also has power-deployable running boards, 20-inch wheels, rain-sensitive windshield wipers, and a tri-pane panoramic sunroof. The interior has Nappa leather-trimmed seats and 20-way power adjustable driver and front passenger seats. Those seats have massage capabilities as well, alongside tilt and recline options for the second and third rows.
